Amber Coggin, Ph.D.
I have a passion for helping dyslexic students. The passion began when my daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia. Not long after, I was diagnosed as well. Finding this out changed my world completely. It opened my eyes to so many new ideas. I gained a confidence that I never had as a child. I never intended on going to college because school was such a struggle; however, my plans changed. I received my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. After working for a couple of years, I went back to school and received my master’s degree in Curriculum Instruction and Leadership. I am currently working towards my doctorate in psychology. I have taken the Orton Gillingham training and multi-sensory math training. I worked with dyslexic children in a private school helping them with their language arts and one on one tutoring using the Orton-Gillingham methods. I now own my own tutoring practice and am excited to help as many children as I can. I want their worlds to be opened up as much as mine was.
